Who and what we are.....

Who we are and what we are is a huge question.  Lets start with our physical body.  We have a human biological system that is an absolute masterpiece.  When functioning as designed it holds a complex electrochemical system in our nervous and endocrine systems.  It is designed to function on its own, with little input.  It is designed to be self healing and self replicating, it filters toxins and discards them in a number of well designed systems.  It assimilates nourishment through the lungs and digestive system and expels waste products.  Did you know that every seven years the human body sheds and replaces all its cells, basically replacing itself and creating a whole new body?  It has a structural system that moves with very little input from the human mind.  If all things are functioning as designed simply the desire of movement sets in motion a series of actions that allows our skeletal system, myofascia, musculature, tendons and ligaments to gracefully and quite often smoothly, stand up, walk, hold the hand of a loved one, caress and feel the silky soft cheek of a baby.

But is this masterpiece of a biological system all we are?  To that the answer is no.  This system in all its magnificence is not all we are.  We are also a Being and a soul and our physical bodies are a direct expression of this greater aspect of ourselves.  Our human body though is a very unique and interesting way to experience a reality.  Imagine this,  you are a soul and you want to feel, see, touch.

Our souls or Being is the aspect of us that is eternal, ever growing, ever learning.  It is the part of us that is bigger than the human.  The part that holds our master plan, that guides us when we are lost, or sad, feeling hopeless, and holds our hand when we feel despair.  It is the part of us that has led us to our greatest accomplishments, and celebrated our greatest joys and loves.  It is the part of us that is present for all these things whether or not we feel it or believe we have a soul.

Our Soul is how we connect to the bigger picture.  As we are living out our lives it is not always easy to remember or experience our connection to Greater intelligence.  We don't always feel or experience our connection to our Soul, Soul Family or Creator.  But the Soul is our continuum.  It is the part that is eternally us, and eternally connected to Creator.  It is the part of us that knows and understands why and how to do things that are sometimes beyond the capacity of our human mind in a given moment.  It is the part of us that we can truly trust to take us to where we need to go, even in the moments when we feel we can not trust ourselves.  Our soul holds the keys to our remembrance and it holds the directions to the path we walk.
